Type: Gold with opal & colored diamonds necklace

Description: 14k yellow gold hand fabricated necklace design with articulated links suspending approx. 20x28mm pear-shape Australian matrix opal with naturally occurring "paisley" design, and with 3 naturally colored round brilliant cut diamonds "tube-set" through the opal. Approx. .25ct total weight of diamonds in natural lavender, yellow and pink colors.

Method: All pieces of this necklace design were hand fabricated and assembled. Opal is fully backed with gold sheet and tubes setting diamonds pierce the backing and are "swedged" in order to form a "set" for the opal. Opal was drilled w/diamond drills prior to fitting trubes. Diamonds were bezel set in the top of each tube. Some granulation is used for decorative effecct both around the "bezel" of the pendant, as well as on some of the links of the necklace.
