Christmas Note

December 18, 1994

I know, I know..."not another one of those cutsie, newsy, word processor thrashed out letter inserts into the Christmas card" things!

Thing is, you see, I just heard some news that I thought I should share with you.

Apparently, there's been quite a bit of discussion regarding the holiday season rush and the fall out of less than joyous emotions at the prospect of not enough time, a shortage of funds, a lack of appetite since that Thanksgiving turkey thingy, inadequate parking facilities, and general shortness of tempers. This has not escaped the attention of the Board of Directors for Christmas, and according to my usually reliable sources, their most recent meeting is rumored to have had some interesting minutes.

A motion was floored and seconded that Christmas should be postponed. A lengthy debate was at hand, however, on the issue of the next available date to hold the Christmas celebration. While January didn't seem to provide quite enough time for all to recover, February was clearly out on account of the Valentine's Day activities. March and April are much to consumed with accounting work and taxes, not to speak of Easter. Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Flag Day exhaust May and June, and with people randomly scheduling vacations, all the summer months are certainly inappropriate. September? No way. Gotta get the kids back into school. October is Holloween and November is Thanksgiving, and we canŐt postpone Christmas a full year!

So, it was voted that Christmas would be divided up into 365 segments and we would celebrate a little bit of the Christmas Spirit every day.

Cool, huh!
